Sensitizing the Youth

Residential Camps for Adolescent Girls and Boys in Rajasthan:

An NGO is being supported to organize residential camps for adolescent girls and boys in 48 villages of Kishanganj block (Baran district) and 50 of Bap block (Jodhpur district) in Rajasthan. The initiative aims to provide appropriate learning opportunities to young persons, investing in them as the vanguards of change. The camps are working to inculcate the following:

• Improved learning and understanding of social and gender issues to overcome stereotypical beliefs.

• Deepened understanding of the human rights framework.

• Increased knowledge and practice of laws related to women.

• Improved knowledge of the functioning of the Panchayati Raj system.

• Enhanced awareness about sexual abuse and trafficking of girls through social mapping and micro planning.
