Under the first round of Project Accelerated Fund (PAF) Capacity enhancement of PWN, building partnerships catalytic work with CBOs, media and HIV groups.

Under PAF, UNIFEM aimed to address vulnerabilities that put women at risk to HIV/AIDS as well as catering to gender inequalities in the context of care, treatment and support for WLHAs. UNIFEM had catalyzed strategic linkages amongst several stakeholders on issues relating to gender equality, sexuality care and support through gender focused interventions for the HIV/AIDS pilot and other initiatives. Capacity building was taken up in the specific arenas like skill building communication towards negotiating safe sex and dealing with gender based violence, facilitation of gender sensitive materials and community based studies on gender and HIV/AIDS. Range of Tools, Reports and publications have been produced by PAF project partners with technical and financial support from UNIFEM. Therefore, this project intended to address the gender gaps in the complexity of issues affecting  HIV.
